General
SoundCoreHero is an all-in-one professional audio system that combines a multi-channel audio player, a powerful DSP (Digital Signal Processor), and an automation controller into a single device. It’s designed to simplify complex audio setups in commercial installations.
The primary difference is the maximum number of audio channels they support. Pico is for smaller projects (up to 8 channels), Professional is our most versatile model (up to 128 channels), and Ultimate is for the largest installations (up to 512 channels). The Ultimate model includes a hardware clock for lower latency and redundant power supplies.
Each unit ships with the Sound Core Hero player, a power cable, an Ethernet cable, a rack mount screw set, and a Quick start guide.
For most applications, no. SoundCoreHero has a powerful DSP engine built-in, including a full mixer, EQ, compression, and other effects for every channel. This eliminates the need for a separate, external DSP in many systems.
Licensing & scalability
Our licensing is designed to be flexible. You only pay for the number of channels you need. If you have a 16-channel license and need 18 channels for a new project, you can simply purchase a 2-channel upgrade without having to buy a whole new block of licenses.
The great part is that you don’t have to. The hardware for the Professional version is the same whether you have 16 or 128 channels. Upgrading is a simple software license update, allowing your system to grow with your needs without replacing the physical unit.
Installation & hardware
The unit uses a standard IEC power connection (100-240 VAC). It requires 1U of rack space and is designed for front-to-back airflow, so it’s important not to block the ventilation openings. We recommend leaving 1U of space between multiple devices in a rack for optimal cooling.
The unit fits in a standard 19-inch rack, is 1U high, and has a depth of 300 mm.
Networking & audio protocols
Yes. In addition to native Dante support, it is also fully compliant with the AES67 audio-over-IP standard, ensuring broad compatibility with other professional audio equipment.
Yes, the system supports multiple network modes, including a “Direct” mode where control and Dante audio can operate on a single network connection for simpler setups.
Operation & software
The primary control is through a modern, web-based interface that works on any PC, tablet, or smartphone with a web browser. No special software or app installation is required.
The system supports multiple simultaneous users. A robust permission system ensures that you can control which users have access to specific functions (e.g., an operator can change playlists, but only an administrator can change network settings).
The player supports a wide range of professional and consumer audio formats, including WAV, MP3, AAC, and FLAC.
You can easily upload audio files directly to the internal SSD storage through the web interface.
